Soup Sampler
Coming back at you with another dinner party idea perfect for the colder winter months: Soup Sampler night! Have everyone make their favorite soup or side and bring your own (smaller is recommended) bowl to taste all the variety of soups. Some great sides include breads, salads, etc and who doesn’t want a nice glass of wine in the evening as well?
I recently did this with some friends and the lineup was:
Salads:
Broccoli salad (omg so good like a fancy coleslaw but better) find the recipe here.
Leafy salad
Soups:
Vegan chili with sweet potatoes, beans, and veggies from Pick Up Limes
Miso soup
Corn chowda made with oatmilk to be dairy free
Frankensoup aka whatever is left over in the fridge—ended up being potato leek
Breads:
Disaster bread (aka bread made with out a recipe, it’s actually very good)
Extras:
Shrimp pad Thai
Various alcoholic beverages
Overall it was a super delicious and fun evening! Other suggestions for future events include (for the meat eaters) clam chowder, stew, regular chili, Italian wedding soup, chicken noodle, etc. For veggies like myself, broccoli cheddar, french onion, tomato basil, gazpacho, tortilla soup, coconut carrot, pho, and more are great options.
