Toast to Twenty-Two


For my 22nd birthday I had some friends over for a “toast it up” party featuring a build-it-yourself toast bar, wine and cider, art, and a lovely cake one of my friends made. It was a fun, chaotic adventure and I though I would share the meal list in case any one wanted to recreate this event.

For the breads, I got four loaves:

1) sour rye

2)cinnamon raisin

3)honey bran

4) wholewheat oatmeal and set them up next to the toaster.


For toppings there were two “routes” you could choose: sweet or savory, with lots of options for crossover.


Savory included:

vegan butter

lemon herb aioli

avocado

hummus

roasted red peppers

mushrooms

roasted chickpeas

herbed beans

tomatoes

fig “sausage”

arugula

sweet corn

feta


Sweet included:

homemade jam

peanut butter

apple

banana

Brie

hazelnut spread

chocolate chips


Dressings/seasoning:

balsamic dressing

salt & pepper

everything but the bagel seasoning

cinnamon (&cinnamon sugar)

sriracha
